Julia Rijssenbeek

Julia Rijssenbeek is a philosopher and interdisciplinary researcher, focusing on the philosophy of emerging technologies. During her time at FreedomLab from 2017 to 2025, she led research on transitions in food systems, while also pursuing her PhD in Philosophy and Technology at Wageningen University & Research. She obtained her PhD (cum laude) as part of the Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies program, researching the ethical and philosophical implications of synthetic biology.
