Jessica van der Schalk

A truly ardent philosopher at heart, Jessica sure knows how to break it down. From studying tech to composing business credos, Jessica will illuminate the ontological properties of any state of affairs. Her research at FreedomLab is primarily centered on the impact of technology on education and the nature of virtual reality and artificial intelligence. She is also closely involved in our consultancy, leading interactive sessions with clients, identifying the most important points at issue, and giving talks on various topics. An alumna of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, she completed two degrees in philosophy and an additional research program, having also taught argumentation and reasoning to undergraduates and philosophy to elementary and middle school students. Integral to her personal and professional development, Jessica delves deep into literature concerning the philosophical relationships between humans and nature, and the importance of critical thinking and human autonomy vis-à-vis the impending wave of technological revolutions.
